These HID xenon bulbs are manufactured in three distinct variants: D1S, D2S, and D3S. Each variant uses a keyed metal base that matches a specific OEM HID socket, preventing cross-installation between bulb types. Rated at 35W, the capsules are intended for factory HID headlamp assemblies that use a xenon arc light source rather than halogen filaments.

Vehicle Circuit Operation

The bulbs operate through the vehicle’s 12V lighting circuit using the existing HID ballast configured for the selected D-series type. Light output increases gradually after switch-on as the xenon arc stabilizes, which is standard behavior for HID systems. D1S and D3S variants incorporate an igniter within the base, while D2S relies on an external igniter integrated into the vehicle ballast.

Installation and Handling

Installation follows typical OEM HID service procedures using the factory bulb retainer and socket. The keyed base aligns with the housing to ensure correct orientation before locking in place. The glass capsule should remain free of oils during handling, and unused bulbs should be stored in the provided tray packaging when not installed.
